The current version of AutoCaption is V1.1 build 41 (Unicode) and includes DynaCaption II^TM V1.0 build 126 (Unicode).

The most current version of AutoCaption is posted here.  Users can update any time they wish.

Free Updates

AutoCaption users have been enjoying free updates since 1989.

Technically speaking, updates are free for only the first year of ownership, but Rick (our marketing director) wants to reward loyal users by offering free updates for as long as possible.  And we want to keep him happy.  He gets a bit "surly" when we even mention update fees.  But he loves it when the competition tries to charge you for their tweaking of what you already own.

PLEASE NOTE: Unless you have an AutoCaption II key there's absolutely no point in downloading the AutoCaption II software.  Licensed AutoCaption II users get an electronic key so they can activate AutoCaption II, back up or restore their computer, transfer AutoCaption II to another computer, or update AutoCaption II from here.  But unless you have that - nuthin' happens.

Technical Requirements

AutoCaption II requires a Windows® 2000, or XP operating system and at least one serial port.

Just like any multimedia system or video editing system, you can never have too much memory, a hard drive which is too fast, or a CPU which is too efficient.  Technical details...

But some users have more computing "horsepower" than others.  So we "stress test" AutoCaption II to make sure we can breakup transcripts, schedule captions, and encode closed captions using a slower computer with just 256Meg of RAM and an 800MHz Pentium® CPU.  While we don't recommend running AutoCaption II on a computer like this, it's nice to know you don't have to have the latest and fastest just to get your work done.

Downloading

The AutoCaption II installation package consists of AutoCaption II, DynaCaption II, the AutoCaption Help System and the DynaCaption Help System in one 16.5 Meg file.
